Anthropic has paused two benefits of its Claude Startups program just three days after announcing its expansion on October 6: the free year of Claude Team (up to five Premium seats) and the one-time $1,000 API credit for approved startups. Previously redeemed benefits remain active, while some pending applications have been returned for review.

The October 6 expansion had promised 12 months of Claude Team at no cost plus a single $1,000 credit for the Claude API usable on the first-party Claude API through Claude Console, alongside partner offers in the Claude Startup Stack.

The reversal is a practical, user-relevant signal for founders: startups that haven't yet applied should check the current terms before planning around the offer.
