ChatGPT Work sees elevated errors again; OpenAI warns scheduled tasks may fail

OpenAI's status page showed elevated errors for ChatGPT Work and scheduled tasks on October 5, beginning at 7:03 AM UTC, with mitigation reached while recovery was being monitored. OpenAI's scheduled-tasks documentation advises users to check the Scheduled section to review results and schedules when tasks fail.

Work Mode has been one of ChatGPT's least stable features this fall. OpenAI's status history records elevated errors on September 10, a 1 percent turn-failure rate across active workflows on September 11–12, incidents on September 14–17, a broader Work outage hitting Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Education users on September 22, and elevated errors across ChatGPT, Codex, and the API on September 29.

OpenAI said a detailed root-cause analysis for the September 29 incident would follow within five business days. For Work users, the practical takeaway: recurring, short-lived failures keep hitting the mode that handles background tasks and scheduled jobs.
