OpenAI ran Tibo's global usage reset for paid ChatGPT accounts on October 2
Tibo Sottiaux's October 2 post promised a global usage reset for all paid ChatGPT accounts at 10:00 AM Pacific the next day, after GPT-6.1 Sol's launch-week load spike. Tibo later said the reset had fully propagated, and users across paid tiers confirmed their buckets refreshed — with an awkward wrinkle: some Business Standard seats reported missing it entirely.
One Business Standard customer with four paid seats said none received the reset more than a day later, despite the announcement's "all paid ChatGPT accounts" wording. Tibo acknowledged and fixed a missed Pro 500 cohort the same day — "All fixed" — but Business Standard users were still waiting. It is not the first omission: in July, OpenAI confirmed Business workspaces had been "inadvertently omitted" from two Codex hard resets and later issued a corrective Business reset.
The reset effectively compensates subscribers whose included usage coincided with the Sol launch slowdown; Tibo says the model is now back to expected speeds. For Pro 200 subscribers facing the October 30 cut from 20x to 10x Plus, the reset was the week's only relief valve — and a reminder that these resets can also wipe leftover quota you were saving.
