Meta's Muse passes 5 million downloads, reaching the mark faster than ChatGPT, Grok or Claude

Meta's personal AI agent Muse has surpassed 5 million downloads, less than a month after its September 8 launch. Market intelligence firm Sensor Tower reports the app reached the milestone faster than ChatGPT (56 days), Grok (103 days) or Claude (492 days).

Earlier Sensor Tower estimates had Muse at 2.5 million downloads in its first two weeks, climbing past 3.4 million later in September. The figures measure cumulative downloads, not engagement or retention, and the app is currently available only in the United States and Canada.

The milestone caps a noisy week for Muse: new small-business connectors, a privacy dispute over alleged private-message reading, and a Marketplace address-leak incident. Meta is now expanding the agent to small businesses and an enterprise platform, betting the consumer agent lead translates into business demand.
