Anthropic makes Claude for Government generally available to federal and state agencies

Anthropic moved Claude for Government out of public beta and into general availability on September 30, opening it to federal and state agencies. The platform delivers Claude's coding and agentic capabilities through a FedRAMP High authorized environment.

Agencies get capabilities comparable to Anthropic's commercial customers, with new features arriving on the commercial release cadence. Staff can use skills, plugins and projects for memo creation, RFP reviews and casework, and Claude Code can build or modernize public-service software. Admins can allocate and control spending across departments, and security teams get audit logs supporting each agency's authority-to-operate process.

Procurement officers can contract with Anthropic directly on general-availability terms. The launch lands the same week the White House rolled out its America.gov chatbot and signed the super-intelligence accord — government AI adoption is accelerating on multiple fronts at once.
