Accenture to train 30,000 staff on Anthropic's Claude AI in expanded partnership

Accenture is expanding its partnership with Anthropic to train roughly 30,000 of its staff on Claude, the consulting giant's largest-ever deployment of an AI assistant. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said tens of thousands of Accenture developers will be using Claude Code, describing it as Anthropic's largest deployment to date.

The move is a bet that staff fluency with AI is a competitive edge in enterprise services. Just last week, Accenture announced a parallel partnership with OpenAI to train hundreds of thousands of its IT workers on ChatGPT Enterprise before integrating it into workflows.

The staffing story cuts both ways: Accenture recently said it will cut staff it cannot upskill into AI roles, and its workforce shrank from 791,000 to 779,000 in the three months before October. For Anthropic, landing Accenture's army of enterprise developers is a major distribution win against OpenAI and Microsoft in the fight for corporate customers.
