Talking to ChatGPT is getting better in three ways starting today. OpenAI is rolling out a collection of improvements to how ChatGPT Voice mode works, closing a few of the longest-standing gaps between voice and typed chat.

First, ChatGPT Voice can now be powered by OpenAI's three GPT-6 models. Astra, the most capable, has been out for a few weeks, and Sol and Luna — the new medium and small intelligence models — were upgraded to GPT-6 yesterday.

Second, plugins now work with ChatGPT Voice. That covers integrations like email, calendar, and Slack — a big disconnect for Voice users until now. Third, ChatGPT Voice now works with ChatGPT Work on the web and mobile, OpenAI's cloud-connected agentic system that follows you everywhere.
