Palo Alto Networks said Tuesday it will launch a new cybersecurity service for businesses built on frontier AI models from Anthropic and OpenAI. The service, called Unit 42 Continuous Frontier AI Defense, uses Anthropic's Claude Mythos 5 and OpenAI's GPT-5.6-Cyber alongside open-weight models to hunt security vulnerabilities across corporate systems, according to Reuters.

It's designed to continuously test web applications, APIs, and cloud infrastructure as digital environments change — identifying vulnerabilities and attack paths, then advising on fixes including code-level patches and virtual patching. Palo Alto says hackers are increasingly using AI to find and exploit network weaknesses, so defenses need to operate at the same speed.

The service will be available globally through annual subscriptions, with pricing based on the mix of OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-source models each customer selects. It's another enterprise-software front in the labs' rivalry: both frontier vendors landing inside the same security product.
