Abacus AI released Abacus AI Bot on September 21: a free-to-start, open-source AI agent that runs on the user's own Windows, Mac or Linux machine and works inside everyday messaging and productivity tools, per the company's announcement. It combines direct chat with Abacus AI, custom personal bots, routine automation and multi-step task execution from a client-side desktop app.

Every new free Abacus.AI account gets 2,000 complimentary credits; users can also bring their own external LLM API keys and subscriptions, with no credit card required at onboarding.
