Anthropic expands its GSA OneGov deal: a 40% consumption discount on Claude, now open to state, local, tribal and territorial governments too
Anthropic and the U.S. General Services Administration announced an expanded OneGov agreement on Tuesday, October 27, giving government buyers a 40% consumption-based discount on Claude. The discount covers Claude Enterprise, Claude for Government and the Claude API — Anthropic says it applies across every product surface for the first time, including FedRAMP-authorized environments.
Eligibility now extends beyond the federal government to state, local, tribal and territorial governments, with ordering available directly, through resellers and on major cloud platforms, and through cloud providers in the coming months. There are no minimum orders; agencies pay only for what they use.
Anthropic estimates the discounts could save the government $1 billion, and says about 500 U.S. federal, state and local organizations now use Claude, with weekly Claude for Government active users up about eightfold since February. GSA says its OneGov strategy has generated more than $1.8 billion in savings since it began.
