Nvidia at GTC Berlin: Agent Knowledge Foundation and Kumo models for enterprise agents, plus an OpenShell Reference Architecture

At GTC Berlin on Wednesday, Nvidia expanded its open Agent Toolkit with the Agent Knowledge Foundation, a layer meant to ground enterprise agents in company data without moving the data, rebuilding workflows or changing governance controls. CEO Jensen Huang made data access the center of his keynote pitch: what turns agents into 'super agents,' he said, is access to a company's knowledge.

The foundation bundles CUDA-X libraries such as cuDF, cuGraph, cuML, cuOpt and cuVS with a new Auto-Ontology library that translates raw company data into business concepts — customers, products, orders — and maps how they relate. It also includes Nemotron Retriever and the new Kumo Structured open models (Kumo Tabular, Relational, Time Series and Forecast) for finding company information and making predictions from structured data.

Nvidia also unveiled the OpenShell Reference Architecture, a hardware-and-software design for containing and monitoring agents: models run on Vera Rubin systems, agent harnesses on Vera CPUs, and BlueField-4 chips run Nvidia's Sentry software to watch agent behavior and enforce policy in hardware. Anthropic, AWS, Google Cloud, Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI, Perplexity, SAP and SpaceX's AI unit are among those working with the architecture, and Nvidia also showed DSX POD, prebuilt AI factories it says can be installed in 14 days instead of six months.
