Anthropic asks Claude users to opt in to sharing voice recordings for AI training
Claude users are seeing a new in-app prompt reading "Allow us to use your voice data to improve our AI models." Anthropic says audio recordings and voice chat data help its models understand and respond to speech better, and users can answer Allow or Not now.
Sharing is entirely optional and off by default. The prompt points users to Settings > Privacy, where a new toggle controls voice-data sharing and where the data can be turned off or deleted at any time.
The timing is notable: voice training data is the scarce resource behind the next wave of conversational models, and Anthropic is asking for it at the moment its voice features are expanding. Claude joins ChatGPT and Gemini in asking users to trade their voice data for model improvements.
