Anthropic has expanded Claude Code's cloud sessions — which run coding tasks on Anthropic-hosted infrastructure instead of your own machine — to all eligible subscribers, dropping the research-preview signup. Sessions can be started from the Claude website, the Code section of the Claude mobile app, the desktop app, or the CLI with `claude --cloud`.

To drive adoption, Anthropic is handing out promotional credits: $100 for Pro subscribers and $250 for Max subscribers. The credits began September 23, must be claimed by October 7, and expire November 4. They cover cloud sessions only, not local Claude Code use.

The pitch is continuity: start a long task, leave it running remotely, and review the results later. Once the promotional balance runs out, cloud sessions count against the plan's normal usage limits — Anthropic says it doesn't charge separately for the cloud container itself.
